The QFHS Heritage Centre and Library is closed Victoria Day weekend, from Saturday, May 19 to Monday, May 21. We re-open Tuesday, May 22.
Used Book Sale - Saturday, May 26
Everyone is invited to attend our annual used book sale Saturday, May 26, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the QFHS Heritage Centre and Library, 173 Cartier Avenue, Pointe-Claire. Parking is available on the street in front of QFHS and in the parking lot behind, off Salisbury Avenue.
There is still time to drop off your books. Until 3 pm Friday, May 25, you may drop them off at the QFHS Heritage Centre and Library.
All-Day Seminar - Irish Genealogy
Members and non-members are invited to attend our all-day seminar, A Genealogical Day in Ireland, on Saturday, June 9. Our president Gary Schroder and member Lorraine Gosselin will explain how to find Irish ancestors in Quebec and in Ireland. They will discuss the major genealogical resources that are available in Ireland and on the Internet.

Our book store is now open for business. We have re-stocked the shelves, adding two new books that come highly recommended by our President. Drop by our online store to see what is available to help with your family history research. Or browse in person at the QFHS Heritage Centre and Library.
Our books will also be available for sale at the QFHS table at the Ontario Genealogical Society's conference in Kingston, Ontario on Saturday, June 2.

Genealogy Workshop for Beginners
Gary Schroder, president of the Quebec Family History Society, will conduct a two-part workshop entitled, The Maple Leaf and the Fleur dy Lys: How Do I Discover My Ancestors in Quebec, North America and Europe?, at the Pointe-Claire Library. He will explain the fundamentals of genealogical research and how to use the Internet to find ancestors in North America and Europe.
This workshop takes place Wednesday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 30, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Cost $30. Reservations required: In person at Pointe-Claire Library, 100 Douglas Shand Avenue, Pointe-Claire or by telephone 514-630-1218.
